WP1 – DIGITAL CAPABILITIES OF THE NORWEGIAN AIRPORT SYSTEM

Methods: Data mining, airport manager and stakeholder survey, benchmarking.

This WP will benchmark, using a set of key performance indicators (KPIs), the digital capabilities of the Norwegian airport system. The dataset for the benchmark analysis will be built using an online survey of airport managers and relevant airport stakeholders. The WP will assess the influence of digital technology implementation on airport efficiency and processes across the Norwegian airport system.

WP2 – DOOR-TO-DOOR PASSENGER JOURNEY AND GROUND TRANSPORT

Methods: Passenger questionnaire survey, economic analysis, geographical information systems and mapping.

This WP will be largely based on a survey to gather information on the passenger journey to identify the importance of digitalisation on current multimodal door-to-door journeys. The survey will also investigate the commercial potential for the Norwegian airport system to increase non-aeronautical revenues, increase advance purchasing of tickets in multimodal journeys and reduce travel complexity with the implementation of efficient digital technologies.

WP3 – WELLBEING, TERMINAL DESIGN AND THE VALUE OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY IMPLEMENTATION

Methods: Passenger questionnaire survey, cost benefit analysis, architectural design.

This WP requires a passenger survey to identify the major customer ‘pain points’. Once these ‘pain points’ are identified, an analysis will be performed to assess the different costs and benefits of possible solutions, which might combine digital technology aspects and airport design features.

WP4 – DIGITAL SOLUTIONS FOR DISRUPTION SCENARIOS PROVIDING A RESILIENT PASSENGER JOURNEY

Methods: Semi-structured interviews with airport managers and stakeholders, passenger questionnaire survey.

This WP will gather views of both passengers and airport managers and relevant stakeholders on the effectiveness of social media and other digital technologies in moments of disruption. The objective is to formulate clear decision-making processes that take advantage of digital technologies in case of disruption to satisfy passenger expectations, reduce costs, and ensure safe and efficient service recovery for airport managers.

WP5 – ETHICAL IMPLEMENTATION OF DIGITAL AVIATION TECHNOLOGIES.

Methods: Passenger focus groups and semi-structured interviews with airport managers and stakeholders.

This WP will assess the customer and business perspective on ethical and privacy issues related to personal data collection and storage, including biometrics using qualitative analysis of a series of focus groups held with airport passengers and semi-structured interviews held with airport managers and relevant stakeholders.
